I'm really worried about my gardasil vaccine?

-Ok, so I'm 13 years old and I got the vaccine about a year ago.

My mom had cervical cancer, so she really wanted me to have this vaccine.

And now I've read all these bad things about the vaccine like death and paralysis,

and I'm really worried. The only side effect I had was a sore arm after the shots, but that wore off in a couple minutes.

Could it possibly affect me later in life? Like and problems with pregnancy or something?

Does the vaccine wear off?

Please help!!The vaccine is very safe. All reported deaths following vaccination have been investigated; the vaccine wasn't responsible. When tens of millions of girls get the vaccine, there will be some coincidences.

There is no reason to think the vaccine will give you any problems.

A vocal minority are opposed to vaccines. They lie, distort the truth, and fearmonger to persuade people not to vaccinate.

Read .gov websites, like the CDC for realiable, corroborated information. There are many people on the internet, dedicated to lying about the safety and efficacy of vaccines, and this one in particular.

To date, Gardasil hasn't been directly linked to any deaths. All deaths and serious events following vaccination are always investigated. Millions of girls have had this vaccine, myself included, and the vast majority haven't experienced any severe reactions.

It won't affect fertility. The vaccine produces longer lasting immunity than the natural infection would, however because the vaccine is fairly new, all we can say at this point is that it's effective for at least 7 years, however, realistically, it will probably last for decades.
Be careful of medical information you get off the internet.

A very few people have an allergic reaction to the vaccine. They usually have it shortly after receiving the vaccine.

The FDA doesn't let them release a vaccine unless it is proven safe. The CDC and American College Of Pediatricians doesn't recommend mass vaccination unless the benefits outweigh the risks.
The person least likely to get cervical cancer is a Catholic nun.

You do not have to get this vaccine.

Keeping up with your pap exams is a good follow up preventative.

No one knows the long term effects of this vaccine. You are the guinea pig. Let us know.
