-How much weight can I lose in 36 days, with eating healthy and running for about an hour every day. I'm 14, female, 5.6", and weigh 140 lbs. How much weight can I lose in 36 days?
ANNNDDDD...
Soo..I've been running for about an hour for 5 days now, instead of losing weight: Ive been gaining weight.. Why?
And.. So if I do lose weight and replace if with muscle, does that mean my thighs will get really big with muscle? :(In 36 days that's about a month you can lose anywhere from 10-12 pounds, if you are dedicated. The dedication comes from remember your long term goals, and visualizing your amazing body after you lose the weight. What I like to do every time I run, listen to music, and think how amazing I will look when I slim down. I imagine myself talking to girls, and in new clothes....
Im no sure if you can run 1hr a day, if you can by all means do so, but if you are a beginner try running 30mins a day instead. Pace yourself, because running 1hr a day you will injure yourself, and it actually can hinder your long term goals.
Muscle is actually good not bad because muscle burns more calories, remember you arn't going to see results like immediately or like the next day with working out/exercising the results are going to come later...and if you take a picture now and in 1 month you will see a big difference and be like WOW.
So what does it take to lose weight?
1) Decrease your calories, and make sure MAKE SURE your diet is healthy and you are eating enough. Also try and eat 4-6 small meals a day, this helps boost metabolism.
2) Workout, and workout smart. Instead of working out longer try working out smarter, why walk 1hr a day if you can run 30mins, less time better results.
3) RECOVER, which means GET enough sleep and rest. If you are feeling injured or sore take a day off this prevents further damage to the body, which can be more harmful in the long run, and cause your recover time to become longer.
4) DRINK WATER, we need water, instead of sodas, juices, etc drink 6-8 glasses a day, you will feel more energetic, healthier, and just overall great.
5) Stretch to prevent injury, before isn't necessary, but after is a MUST... you want to cool down, and stretch to prevent injury
6) JUST DO IT....STOP TELLING YOURSELF TOMORROW, stop looking for the perfect workout...JUST GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND DO IT...CREATE A HABIT....DO IT TODAY NOT TOMORROW
7) Have fun and get ready for a new you!1) The amount/rate in which you lose weight depends on your current status, a 300pound individual will loose perhaps 100pounds in a very short time! But someone of your size you will prob. not lose a big amount of weight perhaps 10-15 pounds in 36 days?
2)You have been gaining weight because you are building muscle to replace the fat that you are burning.
3) No, you will not look bulky because you are building lean muscle by running.
Also, muscle weighs more than fat so don't be worried about your weight at this point...what you should be looking at is your Body fat percentage and of course how you feel/look. Weight only has a slight relevance.
1 more thing: Don't loose too much weight, you should be perfect at 125, but 140 is average for your height.
Maybe about 10 lbs. Jogging an hour burns maybe....500 calories. 3,500 calories is 1 pound of fat. So...you burn 3,500 per week extra, and if you eat right you'll lose another 1 pound per week.
Don't worry about muscle. You have to work really hard to even begin to look like a bodybuilder if you're female. Women who went through the p90x plan came out looking toned, and that incoporates a lot fo weight lifting and mroe than what you're doing now. So any weight you gained, rest assured you won't get humongous thighs, but toned.
Keep in mind you'll lose 10 lbs of FAT. Which is better than losing 10 lbs, mixed muscle and fat.
First of all, I don't think you need to lose weight! You're at a good height and weight for 14 years old.
You might be gaining weight because you're not eating enough (idk exactly how that works but I've heard of it a lot on the biggest loser, I'm sure you can look it up and find out more)
You will end up getting more muscle but unless you completely overdo it, you won't have huge thighs haha
You shouldnt aim for more then 2lbs a week. Anything more is not healthy.
With running it creates lean muscles and yes muscle weighs more then fat. And no your legs arent going to get really big! That isnt enough working out and weight lifting to get big lol. Also weight gain could be bc of what you are eating. Research a healthy diet. Try caloriecount.about.com it is very helpful.
If your strick, you could lose around 25lbs.
Its just your muscles solidifying and getting water in them. No, you wont get big thighs, just harder ones.
