What is soriases? I know it is a skin condition but what exactly is it?

-I know it is spelled wrong, but i just heard it on TV and i was wondering what it wasIt is an autoimmune disease that causes your skin to become very inflamed. It leads to abnormal skin production which causes flaking of the skin and a rash like condition. It is usually most sever in the scalp area but is often present over much of the body. It's an autoimmune disease...

Basically you produce too much of this thing called a tnf, or tumer necrosis factor, making your immune system attack it. This makes the skin cells generate faster than people who don't have it. "Normal people" regenerate skin cells in 3 to 4 weeks while people with psoriasis regenerate cells every few days.

I wouldn't call them flakes... That's on a good day. Usually they're thick crusts that develop.

There's no cure. There's a bunch of different treatments, but for the most part the idea is to get rid of the crust by using things to soften it and then either peel or wash it off the healthy skin.
