What are those little balls underneath your tongue called?

-you when you lift your tongue up and you feel like those two little balls on the bottom? what are those called? and what happens if one of them gets cut off?They are called genial tubercles, they are points where you have muscles attached to them. You have several muscles that cross and attach to that area.
