Can females have hernia's?

It's not dangerous for me howevEr because it isnt inward, but anyway i have an outie belly button and i thought it was kinda weird, so at my last physchical the doc checked it out, she said it isnt a health concern and only reason for it to be removed is cosmetics! Aha :) im 13 and have had mine my entire life :)
